Hello everyone in this tutorial I will explain How to Insert Data Into Custom Table Via WordPress Custom Plugin, to insert a value into the database we have to design an HTML form and created a custom based plugin and with the help of WordPress pre-define function, we have performed all these operations.

So whenever you need to create a form or create a custom plugin you can easily create into WordPress and perform all operation as per your requirement. 

Follow these steps to Insert Data Into Custom Table

Step 1: First create a table into your WordPress database.

Step 2: Now create a custom plugin “Form Insert DB” wp-content/plugins/custom-form-db.php.

Note: You can create or rename plugin name and file name as per your need.

Step 3: I have created a shortcode for my custom plugin is  ‘display‘;

Step 4: Now when you want to display form use just shortcode to show your HTML form and perform insert operation. use shortcode like [display] in posts or page editor.

We create shortcode for plugin: add_shortcode(‘display’, ‘custom_form’);

Step 5: Done

  1. I created a form like this for registration but i cant able to insert the data in mysql db. The values are not stored in mysql db. Is there anything else to add in the code to insert the data?

    1. Have you checked your MySQL version? you are using MySQL or MySQLi , my code is for MySQL only if anything else let me know!
