Why Facebook is Showing The Thumbnail Image for your Post

The reasons can be many who stepped to show on Facebook.

  1. One of the most common reason is while we use multiple images set in the og:image tag where your featured image is smaller than rest of the images in that case Facebook crawler get confuse about to whom picked to show in post thumbnail on Facebook post.
  2. Facebook uses Open Graph (og) tags,Most Popular WordPress plugins like WordPress SEO by Yoast automatically adds Open Graph(og) for missing thumbnail issue.
  3. While we post on Facebook share make sure the feature image of article is greater than 1200 x 630 pixels  and less than 600 x 315 px.
  4. Always make sure Open Graph meta are placed in header tag of your website.
  5. Something bellow line.
