CAT 2018– CAT (Common admission test) is the national level entrance examination which is administered by IIMs every year on the rotation basis for the candidates seeking admissions in business schools. The CAT 2018 will be held on November 25 in two sessions. Around 2 lakh applicants appear for this entrance examination every year. The official notification of CAT 2018 has been released by IIM Calcutta on 29 July 2018 and professor SumantaBasu will be the convener for CAT this year. Also, the application form of CAT 2018 will be available from August 8. CAT is conducted by IIMs for the admission to 100 business schools across India and over 20 IIMs. The total number of seats which are offered are around 4,000 seats through 20 IIMs. It is mandatory for the aspirants to qualify the examination to get admission in IIMs. The CAT 2018 score card will be valid only for one year until December 31, 2019.

CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

  • Final year graduation students can also apply for CAT 2018.
  • For the reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage to required is 45. General and OBC category candidates should have at least 50% marks in equivalent or aggregate CGPA
  • The candidates must fulfill the below-mentioned parameters to appear for CAT 2018.
  • The Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a known University or Institute
  • The duration of the graduation programme should be minimum three years
  • There is no age limit for applying or appearing in CAT exam, so anyone can appear.

CAT 2018 Registration Procedures

The registration process of CAT 2018 is completely online wherein the candidates need to visit the official website and click on the Registration tab. The application form of the same will be available from 8th August 2018 to 19th August 2018. After filling the form online with all the personal information like name, email address, contact details, etc correctly the aspirants will receive the login details or credentials vis-à-vis CAT 2018 via an email or SMS, positively.

CAT 2018 Application Form filling process

All the applicants need to fill up the CAT 2018 application form in order to get the login credentials. The candidates have to log in through their user ID and password on the official website and they are required to fill up the application form by entering the correct and relevant information. CAT 2018 Application fees

The application fees for CAT 2018 must be paid by the candidates during the tenure as prescribed by the examination conducting body.

  • The application fee for General category applicants is Rs. 1900 and for SC/ST/PWD category candidates Rs. 950. The fees for the registration can be paid through any mode whether it is Net Banking or Credit/Debit Card.

CAT 2018 Application Form Correction

If there is anything which the aspirants want to modify, they can easily make the changes to their application form by simply clicking on the online correction window for CAT 2018 application form which will get open in the 4th week of September 2018. But there are only limited fields that can be corrected. The aspirants first need to log in with their user ID and password to make the corrections.

CAT 2018 Exam Pattern Section-Wise

CAT 2018 is the national level entrance examination which is conducted by IIMs every year for the candidates seeking admissions in the MBA and PGDM courses. CAT 2018 will be held on 25th November 2018 and the duration of the exam will be of 3 hours or 180 minutes. The question paper of CAT 2018 will contain 100 questions with both objectives as well as Non-MCQS.

According to the CAT 2018 exam pattern each correct answer to an attempted question will carry 3 marks and for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be get deducted.

CAT 2018 Syllabus

There is not any prescribed any fixed syllabus for CAT 2018 by IIMs. From the past years, the board has prescribed the suitable syllabus for the candidates appearing for the entrance examination.
